6 Marketing Trends to Watch in 2026
The world never stops moving, and 2026 is shaping up to be a year of big shifts. From how we connect with customers to where those conversations happen, everything’s evolving. Here are the trends we’re seeing in our crystal ball.
1. Getting Personal (Really Personal)
Remember when getting an email with your name in the subject line felt special? Those days are long gone. Today’s customers expect brands to actually understand them.
This is where new AI tools come in. The AI of today are pattern matchers so they’re fantastic at analyzing how customers behave and what they’re interested in based on their repeated choices. That data, mixed with the efficiency of AI, makes it possible to create campaigns that feel individually tailored to every person.
In the B2B world, this approach is called Account-Based Marketing, and it’s working. Three out of four B2B marketers say AI helps them connect with potential buyers earlier in the decision making process, making meaningful conversations possible from the start.
2. Shopping Without Leaving Your Feed
The line between entertainment, social media, and shopping has basically disappeared. You can now browse products on nearly every social platform and buy directly off of TikTok and Instagram. On Youtube, featured products can be linked directly in videos so viewers can watch and shop at the same time.
This blend of social browsing and instant purchasing is changing how people discover and buy products. A furniture piece might catch your eye in a home tour video, and thirty seconds later, it can be on its way to your house. This all means it’s more important than ever to create effective advertising that can serve as a brand awareness tool, a shopping page and news-worthy entertainment all in one.
3. Events Are Back (With a Twist)
Here’s an interesting contradiction: people are cutting back on everyday expenses to splurge on experiences. Nearly 80% of shoppers globally are making strategic trade-offs—skipping the fancy groceries to afford concert tickets, or brewing coffee at home to save up for that weekend getaway.
People are feeling anxious and tired, and they’re fighting back by prioritizing immediate joy and new experiences over long-term planning. For businesses, this means events and experiential marketing are valuable again, but they need to deliver real moments of escape and connection, not just another obligation on the calendar.
We’re also expecting to see more events with hybrid attendance options. Technology is growing everyday and the opportunities to infuse technology with in-person experiences will only expand. If you’re thinking about new ways to engage your customers, a live event might be just what you need.
4. Green Is the New Black
Supporting local businesses and choosing sustainable products aren’t niche attitudes anymore, they’re mainstream trends. Nearly half of all consumers say supporting locally owned companies matters to their buying decisions, and 89% have changed their shopping habits to be more environmentally friendly.
The numbers continue to back this up: American shoppers spent $217 billion on sustainable products in 2025, and that’s expected to rise to over $400 billion by 2032. Even better for green businesses? 80% of consumers are willing to pay more for products that align with their values.
5. The Search Game Is Changing
Google searches are looking different these days. Instead of a ranked list of results, you’re often seeing the first page taken up by AI summaries and links. To add to the changes, many people are skipping search engines entirely, heading straight to ChatGPT or similar tools for their questions.
This shift means the old pay-per-click advertising playbook might need an update. SEO and SEM aren’t going away any time soon, but our strategies are evolving to factor in AI search results.
If you create content for your website, think about formatting it in ways that AI can easily understand and share, such as bullet points, question-and-answer sections and comparison charts.
6. Trust Matters More Than Ever
In a world where anyone can post anything, and AI can make anything a digital reality, genuine trust has become incredibly valuable. Customers want to hear from real people who’ve actually used your product, not prescriptive ads that feel too good to be true.
This is why we’re seeing businesses lean into authentic community building. That might mean joining relevant conversations on social media (genuinely, not just dropping links), creating programs that reward your biggest fans, or building spaces where customers can talk to each other about your products. Micro-influencers and affiliate programs work well here too, because they feel more like recommendations from friends than traditional advertising.
Please note: Despite the clever pun, we do not in fact have a crystal ball. Our predictions are based on current market research, but trends change all the time. But one thing we do know for a fact, no matter what happens in 2026, Fuzzy Duck will be there to guide you through the changes.
What This Means for You
You don’t need to jump on every trend at once, in fact we recommend you don’t. We do recommend thinking about what your audience values and anticipating which of these trends might align with your marketing strategies.
Then, when you’re ready, try something new but take it slow. Technology may be advancing every day but the core principles of marketing remains ever constant. Stay consistent, offer authentic interactions and always focus on the customer. Prioritize those fundamentals, and you’ll be ready for whatever 2026 brings.
