Wings for Widows
Growing Together
Fuzzy Duck didn’t come to the organization as brand creators. Just as Wings for Widows acts as a guardian for those in need, we came on as guardians of their brand. They already had an established identity and a clear sense of their mission. Our job was to nurture, refine, and expand that identity across every touchpoint.
In true Fuzzy Duck fashion, we became their creative partners, ensuring that whether a widow encountered them at a community event or through their comprehensive WidowWise course, the experience felt seamless, professional, and authentic.
Celebrating Community
It’s no surprise that an organization so deeply committed to helping those in need would also be heavily involved in community events. When Wings for Widows sponsored the 2022 Hope Fest in the Twin Cities, we supported them with a variety of print materials.
HopeFest, a one-day music festival, aimed to bring families and friends together to celebrate HOPE. Hilde Park stage was the backdrop for live music while the Hope Village showcased dozens of local organizations offering services and products that promoted hope and healing. This gathering of nonprofits was the first of its kind in the Twin Cities.

Empowering the Network
Wings for Widows’ coaches are the heart of the organization. After all, they’re the ones sitting across from newly widowed men and women, providing guidance during some of life’s most difficult moments. These coaches needed materials that would help them feel confident and professional while reflecting the organization’s caring mission.
Becoming a Wings for Widows coach represents a significant commitment and achievement. The certificate we designed is the cherry on top of an already rewarding experience. It honors the accomplishment of the coach, while serving the practical purpose of displaying professional credentials in their workspace.
Educating and Healing
The WidowWise course represents the heart of Wings for Widows’ educational mission. It’s a comprehensive program designed to help widows navigate the practical and emotional challenges of their new reality. This flagship program needed branding that could carry participants through their entire journey while maintaining consistency across all touch points.
The branding needed to work across digital platforms, printed materials, and in-person sessions to create a cohesive experience that participants could recognize and trust. Every element, from color choices to typography, was selected to share a sense of calm professionalism that could inspire participants to keep going during difficult learning moments.
One of the biggest challenges widows face is understanding complex financial information during a time when clear thinking feels impossible. We created a series of educational infographics that break down overwhelming financial concepts into digestible, actionable steps.
When someone is grieving, even simple tasks can feel overwhelming. The WidowWise participant workbook became more than just a course companion, it became a trusted guide that women could turn to again and again.
To round out the program, we developed a set of digital checklists. These checklists were carefully designed to provide a sense of accomplishment and progress. Each completed item helps to create structure out of chaos, turning each task into tangible proof of progress when the path forward feels unclear.




More Than Just Design
Our partnership with Wings for Widows reminds us why we do this work, not just to create beautiful designs, but to support organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives. Every widow who feels more confident navigating their new reality; every coach who feels empowered to provide better support; and every community that benefits from Wings for Widows’ presence is a testament to the power of thoughtful, mission-driven design.
The story of Wings for Widows is far from over. As they continue to grow and evolve, we’re proud to have played a role in building the foundation that supports their vital work.
